Lake County Social Networking was founded in 2009 based on the premise of “Creating Meaningful Connections” in Lake County, IL.
We are a group of social media enthusiasts, but that doesn’t define us. From a communications professional to a refrigeration repair entrepreneur to a career “mommy blogger”, you’re bound to find many individuals at our meetups that you bond with professionally, personally, or both.
You won’t find all suits and ties or quick business card exchanges at our meetups. Instead, you’ll find local professionals immersed in meaningful conversations about business topics, family life, and of course the latest social media news and breakthroughs.
We Support Local Businesses
Our meetups are held at least monthly at a locally owned establishment within the borders of Lake County, IL. The premier event each month includes a speaker on a topic related to social media and time to network and converse. Additional meetups may occur in any given month, and may be more casual.

About our Founder and President
Founder Tim McDonald
Tim McDonald is the Founding Mentor at My Community Manager, providing resources for online community managers. Tim co-founded the Chicago Community Manager Group and is the Director of Communications for Social Media Club Chicago. Tim is a connector of people, ideas and brands, with a deep and vested interest in the success of Lake County as a community. Tim is an active blogger and the resident Twitter expert. Tim enjoys sharing his knowledge through speaking and workshops. We all say that Tim puts the “social” in “social media”. You’ll understand when he greets you with his warm smile at the next meetup!
President Beth Rosen
Beth Rosen is the founder and creative director of 4 Keys Media, LLC and is a mom of four. With over 17 years of experience in social media, Beth is a sought after speaker and resource on topics not limited to blogging, podcasting, and cutting edge social media strategy.
